Keith came to Alaska in the early
'70's through a tour of duty with the U.S. Coast Guard as a shipboard
navigator and traveled extensively throughout the state. Since completing
his tour of duty in 1977, he attended the University of Alaska and studied
art and worked summers as a commercial fisherman.
Throughout the years he has worked
with a variety of art forms including decoy carving, ivory scrimshaw,
pen and ink drawings, and painting in several mediums. He remembers
winning his first art show in the third grade and his work has been
accepted and placed in numerous art shows around Alaska.
He now resides in Sitka, painting
in the winters from the inspiration and ideas he gets as a captain of
his own charter boat which he operates in the summers.
